Under the command of Chief Warrant Officer Jeffrey Lightsey, the band is composed of more than 60 Soldiers serving in the Texas Army National Guard. The band is also made up of varying performing ensembles, including the award-winning Concert Band, Jazz Big Band, Rock Band, as well as smaller groups such as the Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet, and Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble.
The 36th Inf. Div. Band can be seen throughout the state of Texas and surrounding areas participating in military functions and ceremonies, patriotic holidays, parades and professional sporting events.

The band serves as the public face of the Texas Military department and serves as a bridge between the Active Duty Military and the civilian world. We are the Soldiers that most people will see and interact with first in public.
