SGT Nathan Carreon

SGT Carreon began his military career in 2018 as a member of the 36th Infantry Division Band of the Texas Army National Guard, graduating from Basic Combat Training in August of 2018 and from The Army School of Music in November 2018. As a member of the 36th Infantry Division Band, SGT Carreon is a 9L Saxophone player, and serves as the Saxophone Section Leader for the ceremonial and concert bands while performing as a member of the R&B MPT, Rhythm ‘n Boots.
From July 2020 through September 2020, SGT Carreon served on Active Duty Operational Support orders as additional admin and supply support for the unit. From November 2021 through February 2022, SGT Carreon served on State Active-Duty orders in support of Operation Lone Star, and in this capacity, acted as the daytime Training and Operations desks NCO organizing multiple missions and training events for the band. As an NCO, SGT Carreon currently assists in the Training Critical Function Area with an emphasis on physical fitness and marksmanship training. SGT Carreon was activated with the 36th ID Band in 2020 for Civil Disturbance missions with Task Force Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
SGT Carreon completed the Army’s Basic Leadership Course, where he graduated top of his class on the Commandant’s List as the Distinguished Honor Graduate. Nathan earned hisbachelor’s degree in music education from Tarleton State University in 2018. Nathan’s full-time career began in 2022 with the Texas Department of Public Safety where he continues to serve the people of Texas as a Texas State Trooper.
