SFC Heather Johanning

TRumpet, vocals - Rhythm n’ boots

SFC Heather Johanning began her career in Kansas with the 35th Infantry Division Band in 2005, performing a short tour with the 40th Infantry Division Band in California in 2009 beforereturning to Kansas in 2010.  SFC Johanning moved to Texas in 2015, joining the 36th Infantry Division Band. SFC Johanning serves as a trumpet player, vocalist, and as a tabbed member of the Honor Guard.

Outside of the military, SFC Johanning works for the Texas Military Department Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator. Heather holds a Batchelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from Friends University and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Wichita State University. Her hobbies include photography and pole vaulting. SFC Johanning lives in the Austin area with her husband Austin (also a trumpet player) and their two sweet dogs Tetra and Patsy.
