SFC christopher koenig

Sergeant First Class Chris Koenig joined the 36th Infantry Division Band in April of 2008. SFC Koenig serves as Platoon Sergeant, Marching Band NCOIC, and Team Leader of the Heart of Texas Brass having previously served in roles as Trumpet Section Leader, Enlisted Conductor, and Music Library Assistant. SFC Koenig is a graduate of Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course (Peer Mentorship Award), and Senior Leader Course (Commandant’s List). SFC Koenig has conducted the Lone Star Concert Band and performed as trumpet soloist on several occasions and was a 2014 recipient of the Finley R. Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award.

As a civilian, SFC Koenig is an elementary school Music Specialist, and is an active leader in Round Rock ISD and the Texas Music Educators Association. SFC Koenig and his wife, Jennifer (also a Fine Arts educator) live in Round Rock with their violinist daughters, Lorelai and Cora.
