SGT Christopher Washington
Sergeant Christopher Washington initially enlisted in the 151st Alabama Army National Guard Band in 2005 after duty in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his release from the USMC, SGT Washington wanted to continue his passion for music and serve the United States military, quickly joining the 151st and supporting the jazz, wind, and marching bands. SGT Washington’s military experiences include USMC Basic Training San Diego, Marine Corps Aviation School NAS Meridian, MS., and Basic Leadership Course at Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg, MS. SGT Washington joined the 36th Infantry Division Band in 2010 during the unit's deployment to Iraq. SGT Washington holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from The University of Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, MS, and is expected to soon complete a Master of Music in Music History/ Literature from Texas State University in San Marcos. SGT Washington lives in Austin with his partner and enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
