1SG Jason Gagne
The First Sergeant of the 36th Infantry Division Band is First Sergeant Jason Gagne. 1SG Gagne began his career began in the Rhode Island Army National Guard with the 88th Army Band in 2002 before transitioning to the Texas Army National Guard's 36th Infantry Division Band in 2008. Throughout his 20 years in the military, 1SG Gagne has delivered music from coast to coast in the United States as well as internationally from the Bahamas to Basra, Iraq. His military assignments have included Senior Instrumentalist, Trombone Section Leader, Low Brass Section Leader, Training and Operations NCOIC, Music Performance Team Leader, and Readiness NCO.1SG Gagne's military training includes Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Senior Leader Course, Master Leader Course, Training NCO Course, Readiness NCO Course, Airborne School, Infantry Transition Course, and CREW Master Gunner. 1SG Gagne is currently serving a secondary assignment on State Active Duty for the Texas National Guard in support of Operation Lone Star. 1SG Gagne received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston in 2008. He met his amazing wife, Jessica, of 11 years while both were members of the 36th ID Band.
SFC James Boski
The Readiness NCO of the 36th Infantry Division Band is Sergeant First Class James Boski of Austin, Texas. SFC Boski has served as a Readiness NCO for 16 years of his 22+ years of military service, focusing on Human Resources, Payroll, Operations, and Administration. He started his career as a French Horn Player in 2000 in Connecticut with the 102d Army Band and, after 9-11, volunteered for Airport Security and then was chosen for administration in the Chief of Staff’s Office, JFHQ-CT.After 2 years, he was selected as Readiness NCO, 102d Army Band, and later transferred to Texas and the 36th Infantry Division. From 2019 -2021, SFC Boski served as the Head of Security, Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas; specializing in Emergency Management, Antiterrorism, Physical Security, and Interagency Law Enforcement Operations. SFC Boski has a Bachelor of Music, and a Master of Business Administration. He met his wife, Melissa, during military training and moved to Texas in 2009 when she was stationed at Fort Sam Houston. They have 4 amazing children, Isaiah, Lily, Andrew and Michael.
